HANDS OF TIME — WHERE DIMENSIONS BECOME FLUID

The series transports the observer in between the layers of time where dimensions become fluid. Central to the work is the exploration of physical perception and its impact on the awareness of self and others. The subtle changes, as represented in the series, are without any manipulation or constructed composition. Nonetheless, with careful precision this series depicts that which is not so readily seen, but rather felt. With a sense of momentum, the instant creates itself with forces beyond our control.

All images are printed on 100% cotton rag acid-free paper with an ultrasmooth surface. Giclée printing is a process that uses fade-resistant, archival inks and substrates that produce subtle tonal ranges and vivid colour expressions.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am interested in the point where a photograph has motion and where moving images have stillness. I focus on images that represent a space that can be felt, but are not visible to the naked eye. In this series my aim is a transcendence of time. The sense of time is present without the restriction of a specific place, endless time. Each of the images is captured in a single frame. Hands of Time is a portal. Time is spinning. With a sense of momentum, the instant creates itself with forces beyond control.
